Customization

Font selection

Ballyhoo has a built-in font-selector where you can choose from over 20 fonts, so your website can look like however you want it to. All the pre-selected fonts look great with Ballyhoo.

In order to select your preferred font, do the following:

  1. Go to your WP Admin dashboard and head to Appearance > Customize. Alternatively, type in [Your WordPress Site URL]/wp-admin/customize.php if you can’t find it.
  2. Go to Theme Options.
  3. Select a font from the dropdown.

Thanks to Instant Preview, you can see what the font would look like before your visitors do. When you’ve found the right one, hit “Publish” or use the cog to set the publication of the change to another time.

Banner

Ballyhoo gives you the option to add a banner directly beneath the navigation bar. You can customise the background colour and the text colour of your banner to make it fit in with your brand, as well as some text.

In order to set up your banner, do the following:

  1. Go to your WP Admin dashboard and head to Appearance > Customize. Alternatively, type in [Your WordPress Site URL]/wp-admin/customize.php if you can’t find it.
  2. Go to Theme Options.
  3. Where it says “Do you want a banner above the website details?” click “Yes”.
  4. In the text box below, type in the text that you want to be displayed in the banner.

This feature can be used for a variety of purposes, including highlighting when there is a sale on, promoting a new product or announcing a new blog post. We’re working on a setting that will allow you to set a link within the banner, whether that be through a hyperlink or a button.

Below are some examples of how it could be used:
